Description
16 Air Assault Brigade is an airborne and air assault brigade of the British Army. The brigade is based in Colchester, Essex and is part of the 3rd (UK) Division. The brigade is made up of several units, including the Parachute Regiment, the Royal Gurkha Rifles, and the Army Air Corps.
The Hook & Loop Backing Tactical Recognition Flash (TRF) of the 16 Air Assault Brigade is a distinctive embroidered badge worn on the uniform of members of the brigade, particularly on the Left upper arm. The badge features the emblem of the brigade, which is a winged horse, also known as Pegasus
The Hook & Loop Backing refers to a type of fastener system that allows for easy attachment and detachment of the badge from the uniform. This system involves a strip of hook material sewn onto the back of the badge, which can be attached to a corresponding loop material sewn onto the uniform. This allows the badge to be quickly and easily attached and removed as needed.
The TRF is worn on the arm of the uniform and serves as a means of identifying the unit to which the wearer belongs. It is a symbol of pride and identity for members of the 16 Air Assault Brigade and is also available for purchase by members of the public who wish to show their support for the brigade.
