Description
The Royal Engineers Cap Badge with Kings Tudor Crown is a British military insignia worn by members of the Royal Engineers regiment. The badge features the new CR III initials in the middle of the design and is capped with the new Kings Tudor Crown.
The castle is a symbol of the Royal Engineers' role in constructing and fortifying military defences, while the crossed swords represent their combat capabilities. The Kings Tudor Crown, which features fleurs-de-lis and an arch, was used by monarchs in England from the late 15th century until the early 17th century.
The Royal Engineers is one of the oldest and most prestigious engineering regiments in the world, with a history dating back to the 18th century. Its soldiers are trained in a wide range of engineering skills, including construction, demolition, bridge building, and mine warfare. The regiment has played a key role in numerous conflicts and operations throughout history, including both World Wars and recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
