Description
The Royal Military Police (RMP) Beret Cap Badge is a military insignia worn by members of the Royal Military Police, a corps of the British Army that provides policing and security services to the army. The badge features a red enamel shield with a silver metal laurel wreath surrounding a central emblem, which is topped by a crown.
The laurel wreath is a symbol of victory and honour, while the crown represents the monarch and the authority of the British Army. The central emblem features ER II (our late Queen), with a Queen's crown on top, and the wording Royal Military Police inscribed on the bottom scroll
The RMP was established in 1877 and is responsible for providing policing and security services to military personnel and their families in both peacetime and during conflicts. The corps is responsible for a range of functions, including law enforcement, investigations, and security operations. The beret and cap badge are worn as part of the RMP uniform.
