Description

The mummy-style Snugpak Softie Elite 5 sleeping bag is the heaviest weight/most insulated bag in the highly praised Elite range, which is rated for temperatures down to minus 20 Celsius.

One of the best features of these Snugpak Elites is the zipped side baffle which can open out to give more space inside the bag between the chest and knee area. An expandable side panel – the EPS – widens the sleeping bag by 12.5cm/5” for a more comfortable sleeping position or simply to keep a little cooler. The EPS is not as heavily insulated as the rest of the pack so therefore once opened out, it will provide a slightly cooler sleeping environment.

We also recommend this sleeping bag due to the reinforced lower area – so boots can be kept on if necessary – and a useful internal valuables pocket. It is machine washable with care and full instructions, plus a compression carry bag, are supplied.

This product weighs approximately 2.4kg. If this is more than required for your expedition conditions, we suggest viewing the rest of the Elite range of premium sleeping bags which we are also pleased to stock (from the lightest weight 1 through to 4).

SNUG; thats for sure

Purchased in 2007 for an expedition trek cmping on a glacier (Baltoro to K2) where the rivers froze at night it kept me warm. 10 years later (it had been used in between) in Ladakh it still did the job masterfully, this was a winter trip where the average night temperatures where and when we camped are reputed to be -25c, I wore clothes in side the bag but remained warm, someone was heard to complain his wet wiped had frozen solid, as had my 'hot' water bottle..it is bulky and heavy so if you arent carrying it this is the one to get, also being synthetic it doesnt soak up moisture like down filling
