Altberg Skipton Nubuk brauner Leder Wanderschuh

I’m a size 9 and 43 is perfect and I don’t find them narrow as some reviews said.
They are super comfy with a nice padded footbed. The bend in them as you walk took about a day for the leather to wear in slightly and I should imagine they will only get better and better. The leather and general manufacture feels very high quality - way better than stuff I looked at in Blacks etc for much the same and higher prices. I would highly recommend these and may get another pair tbh, they are that nice!

My second pair of these, having just sent the first back to Altberg for resoling - a two month turn around, so good to have new pair in reserve. I wore out the rear corner of the sole after about 6 months (as I typically do with any vibram sole) but that was after 700-800 miles done in them and my own heavy footed walking so definitely not a critique of their quality at all. Supremely comfortable, right from the off and quality materials. The only walking shoes that I have owned and chose to buy again. Excellent service from JBC as usual.

These shoes are narrow, especially around the ball and toe, so I ordered the next size up. unfortunately, these were too long so I replaced them with my normal size (sadly, this shoe does not have half sizes). The service from JB was very quick and efficient and the replacement shoes arrived within 48 hours. The shoes are very sturdy, light and exceptionally comfortable; however, due to the narrowness, there have to be compromises and I doubt if I could wear them with a thick pair of winter socks. This is a pity as I am sure that the quality leather uppers would stand up to the wear and tear of a hard trail. They are very stylish and excellent for urban/ light trail walking but, due to the compromises, I have only scored them 4*.

Early days still, but my first impressions are good. I’m staggered how light these shoes feel on the feet… very impressive. The heel to toe lacing also gives the shoe a comfortable, yet robust feel.

I am reviewing this owning a pair of altberg boots I had been interested in trying a pair after seeing a view about a new light everyday shoe. I like brand as they offer nice products the shoe is very comfortable and well made and the price was reasonable and well within the range of others I buy

These are an addition to my two pairs of Altberg boots (2/3 and 3/4 season gear) and I’m sure that these shoes will be of similar excellent quality. As to John Bull Clothing. The shoes that I purchased from JBC were the most competitively priced ( i.e, cheapest) that I could find anywhere. Furthermore they arrived the day following the order being placed which was unexpected but excellent. Overall excellent in price & service!
